If you want to succeed in life, achieve your goals, live your dreams…you need to make overcoming procrastination your number one priority.
Everything you do – or don’t get to do – comes down to you winning the battle over procrastination.
Overcoming procrastination is not for the faint of heart.
It takes determination, discipline, confidence and fortitude.
You are not dealing with a weak adversary. No, you are dealing with a powerful enemy and its name is Procrastination. And it wants you to fail. It is on a mission and you are the target.
Procrastination doesn’t want you to live your dreams, it wants you to, ugh!, settle! (Note: if you are already settling, you are safe from the torment of procrastination. It doesn’t bother those who are settling because it is unnecessary.)
Settle. Such a disempowering word. The Oxford dictionary defines this word (emphasis mine):
- adopt a more steady or secure style of life
- sit or come to rest in a comfortable position
Does that describe you? Be honest. It’s okay if it does (for now). Admitting you settle is the first step.
What does it mean to settle?
Simply put, it’s not living the life you want but living the life others want.
Consider your friends, co-workers and neighbors. Are they striving for their dreams or are they settling? I’m serious. Think of the people you know best. Which category do they fall into?
Can I be honest with you? Settling sucks.
Think about this…
- Mark Cuban (owner of the NBA Dallas Mavericks and a shark on ABC’s Shark Tank) doesn’t settle.
- Tony Robbins doesn’t settle.
- Richard Branson doesn’t settle.
- Oprah Winfrey doesn’t settle.
Why should you?
The answer, of course, is that you shouldn’t.
That’s why overcoming procrastination is not a luxury. It is a must.
You want to succeed. You want to achieve your goals and live your dreams. And you should.
So decide today – right now! – to stop settling. Make overcoming procrastination your number one priority.
